Framed Vintage Albums

All these framed records come with the vinyl although I can’t swear to the condition. As you will swiftly find out, these are not your classic framed album material – not on this site will you find four scousers on a zebra crossing or a large dirigible all ablaze, oh no – these are often cool, sometimes a bit kitsch, occasionally funny and some have the vaguest scent of cheese. All are several decades old and show signs of their age to varying degrees but it all adds to their charm.

Connie Francis – More Italian Favourites

1960 Connie Francis album – wonderful cover. Great wall art for your favourite vintage lover … or music lover … or Italian … or person that likes Italian things. I was going to write something funny in Italian but I don’t speak Italian so my plan fell to the ground.

Russ Conway – At The Cinema

Fabulous Russ Conway cover. Cool and kitsch in equal measure. I’m quite sure one of the ladies is his sister … or he’s a Mormon … or maybe they’re just good chums. Whatever they are, they’re mighty pleased to be going to the pictures … no doubt going to see some cool European thing …maybe a Truffaut or Rossellini … probably not a Bunuel – they don’t look in the mood for one of his.

Parliamo Italiano

Very cool cover. Don’t think that the hand gestures are on the record .. not sure how you’d do that which is a shame as I’m guessing they are an integral part of speaking Italian .. that’s not racist is it ? I don’t want to generalise .. I would think that every culture uses a multitude of … never mind .. cool image, good on a wall.

Jim Reeves – Bimbo

So …. Bimbo … it’s called Bimbo …. I find this funny …. perhaps you just know a Jim Reeves fan … either way it’s a great gift. Did I mention it’s called Bimbo ?

Harry Belafonte – An Evening With

Harry Belafonte – so cool you could keep fresh milk near him for days.

£14.00

Eartha Kitt – Thursday’s Child

The awesome Eartha Kitt – long before she, sadly, became rhyming slang.

£14.00

George Evans And His Symphony Of Saxes – Great For Dancing

Fantastic cover picture that looks great on a wall. I do, however, have one or two issues – firstly, I’m a bit disconcerted by the floating arm … is there a person on the other end or has she stuck a stuffed appendage on the wall for the purpose of practice ? Secondly and much more importantly, never leave records on the floor especially out of their sleeves – pure madness. Having said that, I am a fan of the sofa .. very nice.

Billy Vaughn – Embraceable You

Classic 60’s cover – fantastic trippy image. For your own wall or as a gift for embraceable you .. or lovable you .. or squidgable you .. or other forms of you that I probably can’t write here .. or should that be ‘them’ .. embraceable them .. for you to keep for you or to give to them not you to give to you .. unless it’s for you and not them … but it’s a great Valentine present so probably for them .. but if you want to keep it then that’s up to you, I’m not here to tell you who you can or can’t give things to .. it’s your life.

£14.00

Henry Mancini – The Big Band Sound Of

The person on the cover is not Henry Mancini … having said that I haven’t actually checked what he looks like so … but I’m sure if this is him we’d have heard about it.

£14.00

Petula Clark – The International Hits

Fabulous cover on this 1965 album … even if you have no love for Petula you’ve got to love this cover ….. haven’t you ? Young Sally’s stage name of Petula was invented by her father, Leslie Clark; he joked it was a combination of the names of two former girlfriends, Pet and Ulla … not too sure how that went down with Mrs Clark. If you are a big Petula fan I have the framed sheet music of Downtown if you’re interested.

£14.00

Strings For Pleasure – The Best Of Bacharach

Burt Bacharach tunes … Burt Bacharach .. a name that sounds even better in a strong scouse accent. Apparently they thought the listening pleasure of this album would be enhanced by having an attractive lady on the cover – unless she’s a soloist on the record of course then it would be a bit more relevant.

£14.00

Engelbert Humperdink – Twelve Great songs

It’s the Hump ! … the Dink ! The dude with the sideburns from outer space ! It says 12 great songs plus Release Me … does that imply that Release Me isn’t a great song … if it doesn’t, shouldn’t it say 13 great songs including Release Me ? Am I thinking about this too much ?

£14.00

Raymond Leferve – 12 sides

Fantastically kitsch bit of wall art. Great gift for your many sided friends – I’m sure we all know at least one dodecagonaphrenic. Apparently young Ray has 12 sides although apart from Love God / maths teacher / King of personal grooming, I’m not sure what they all are. You will be thrilled to know that the record is included.

£14.00

Kamahl – If I Give My Heart To You

Record is included should you wish to get down with his smoothness – you don’t need to wear a similar jacket to enjoy this but it may help. Fantastic gift for the Love Machines out there.

£14.00

BBI – Concert Band Series ’74

Fantastic cover – don’t know much about this record other than it was released in 1974 – hence, I’m assuming, the ’74 in the title – but as Samuel L. Jackson said, to assume makes an ASS out of U and Me so perhaps it refers to something else …… can’t think of anything though ……………… nope must be 1974.

£14.00

Paul Mauriat – Bloomong Hits

Wonderful cover – 1967. Paul Mauriat – his back catalogue features over 1000 titles and has sold more than 40 million copies ………….. no, me neither. Still, great cover art.

£14.00

Favourite Western Themes

60 minutes of a person discussing contemporary and revisionist Western themes of revenge and retribution, the place of Native Americans in the genre and the struggles of the classic cowboy in the civilised world ……………… not really ….. groovy theme tunes is what it is.

£14.00

Bruno Leonardo Gelber – Piano Concerto No 1

Bruno Leonardo Gelber. A tremendously interesting looking individual and esteemed Argentine pianist. Apparently, he specialises in the Classical and Romantic repertory, but came late to Rachmaninoff, due to the stubbiness of his fingers. Good to know.

£14.00

Andy Stewart – Songs Of Scotland

Andy Sings Songs of Scotland – as opposed to his usual output of death metal. Lemmy and Bruce Dickinson often quote Andy as an inspiration … that might be untrue. Excellent gift for a Scottish person – you may not have picked up on the Scottish theme of this album but trust me, it’s there. In fact, all that’s missing is Kenny Dalglish eating haggis with a set of bagpipes.
