The Beat – Tears Of A Clown
Cover of the magnificent “The Tears of a Clown” – written by Hank Cosby, Smokey Robinson, and Stevie Wonder and originally recorded by Smokey Robinson & the Miracles.
£62.00

Sham 69 – Hersham Boys
Music journalist David Hepworth described the song as “A tired, hollow effort struggling between weary attempts at rabble-rousing and blush-making pseudo-Springsteen ‘street’ songs that reek of desperation and contract fulfilling. As empty self-satisfied a record as anything they supposedly set out to replace”. And yet became quite the iconic tune.
£67.00

The Commodores – Slippery When Wet
Cuz what you got can sho’ nuff mean a lot.
£60.00

£57.00

Dobie Gray – The In Crowd
Mod classic. If it’s square we ain’t there.
£60.00

The Bodysnatchers – Do Rock Steady
A bit interesting this one – the tune should be Let’s Do Rock Steady … there is a single with the miss print of ‘People’ instead of ‘Let’s’ – odd then that this sheet music should have the miss print. Maybe I’m missing something.
£62.00

War – Low Rider
Classic funk track by War released in 1975.
£57.00

Judy Clay and William Bell – Private Number
Classic Northern Soul tune. Just read on Wiki that 911 covered it … I hate to be dismissive of any music but I think I’ll give that one a miss.
£52.00

Cliff Richard and The Shadows Songbook
He’ll outlive us all.
£47.00

The Rolling Stones – Let’s Spend The Night Together
It’s been suggested that the lyrics are suggestive … I would suggest that they are not suggestive but blatantly obvious.
£97.00

The Rolling Stones – Satisfaction.
Keith Richards wrote “Satisfaction” in his sleep and recorded a rough version of the riff on a Philips cassette player. He said when he listened to the recording in the morning, there was about two minutes of acoustic guitar before you could hear him drop the pick and “then me snoring for the next forty minutes” ….. when I read that on Wiki I thought it said “snorting for the next forty minutes” … reasonable mistake methinks.

The Supremes – Baby Love
“Baby Love” was included on the soundtrack to the 1975 feature film Cooley High …. no, me neither.
£57.00

Sandie Shaw – Long Live Love
Shaw was sufficiently confident in the hit potential of the buoyant “Long Live Love” as to turn down the chance to record “It’s Not Unusual”, allowing the song to be given to Tom Jones and become his first hit … well well.
£50.00

The Selecter – The Whisper
The sun is shining and I feel pretty bad.
£62.00

Jr Walker And The Allstars
Tune.
£52.00

Joe Tex – A Woman Can Change A Man
Joe Tex had a fascinating life including a feud with James Brown – according to Wiki ‘ their feud escalated when Tex and Brown performed a concert in Macon, Georgia. Tex, who opened the show, imitated Brown by appearing in a torn, tattered cape and rolling around on the floor screaming, “Please—somebody help get me out of this cape!” Brown, already angry with Tex over the song “You Keep Her”, left the club and returned with guns. Tex had left the club before the shooting had commenced ‘.
£57.00

James and Bobby Purify – Shake A Tailfeather
Cover of the 1963 tune – released by James Purify and his cousin Bobby Dickey … I suppose they thought James and Bobby Purify sounded better than Purify and Dickey which sounds like an avant garde architectural firm.

Joan Jett – I Love Rock And Roll
You need to banish from your mind the fact the she looks like Noel Fielding …. perhaps I shouldn’t have mentioned it. 18 x 14 inch frame. By the way, I haven’t framed this yet – I’ve tried to be clever and photoshop the sheet into a blank frame but as my desire exceeds my skill it’s not quite centred – when I actually frame it it will be much better … promise.
£52.00

Black Sabbath – Never Say Die
I believe that Princess Anne has a large Black Sabbath tattoo on her buttocks …. I made that up. This has two hole punches that, when I frame it, I shall endeavour to disguise. 18 x 14 inch frame.
£57.00

The Police – Can’t Stand Losing You
According to that wellspring of all knowledge Wiki, the original single was banned by the BBC because of the controversial cover (an alternative cover was released in some places). As Sting described: “The reason they [the BBC] had a problem with “Can’t Stand Losing You” was because the photo on the cover of the single had Stewart standing on a block of ice with a noose around his neck, waiting for the ice to melt.” By the way, I haven’t framed this yet – I’ve tried to be clever and photoshop the sheet into a blank frame but as my desire exceeds my skill it’s not quite centred – when I actually frame it it will be much better … promise. 18 x 14 inch frame.
£52.00

David Bowie – Sorrow
Great cover for this cover – think I’ve used that ‘joke’ before but not to worry. Bowie released this in 1973 about 8 years after the original by the McCoys …. you know, the ‘Hang on Sloopy’ lot. 18 x 14 inch frame. All mounts, tapes and backing card are acid free. Please note, the image you see is my clumsy attempt at photoshop as I don’t have the room to store hundreds of framed pictures. The real thing will be much more accurately mounted.
£67.00

Blondie – Picture This
I nearly typed Picture Thus – a more classical version. Of the lyrics, Harry joked, “I was so excited that in ‘Picture This’ I rhymed ‘solid’ with ‘wallet.’ I thought, ‘Wow! Things are happening now!'” 18 x 14 inch frame. All backing card, mounts and tapes used are acid free. By the way, I haven’t framed this yet – I’ve tried to be clever and photoshop the sheet into a blank frame but as my desire exceeds my skill it’s not quite centred – when I actually frame it it will be much better … promise.
£72.00

Small Faces – Here Comes The Nice
This tune marked a distinct turning point for Small Faces’ career, being their first single to deliberately venture into psychedelia, though they’d previously done that on a few album tracks for Decca. The song’s subject regarding a drug dealer somehow bypassed the BBC censors, who did not ban it … years later they also fail to spot ‘eezer Goode. 18 x 14 inch frame. All backing card, mounts and tapes used are acid free. By the way, I haven’t framed this yet – I’ve tried to be clever and photoshop the sheet into a blank frame but as my desire exceeds my skill it’s not quite centred – when I actually frame it it will be much better … promise.
£72.00

The real thing will be much more accurately mounted.
£62.00

David Bowie – White Light, White Heat
Bowie’s cover of the Velvet Underground tune featured in the Ziggy film. I can do this in either a white or cream mount – I thought the white is slightly better and usually make a choice to present one or the other but found it hard to make up my mind on this one.
£97.00

The Small Faces – My Mind’s Eye
Classic Small Faces track – It was originally intended to be an album track by the band but was released as a single by manager Don Arden without their knowledge or consent. It was to signal the end of the band’s relationship with both Arden and Decca. I always preferred the Decca stuff but that’s just me.

1966 track by The Who. The Adverts – Gary Gilmore’s Eyes
Vintage sheet music for this 1977 tune from The Adverts. The song was written from the point of view of a patient who has just undergone an eye transplant and discovers that he has received the eyes of the executed double murderer Gary Gilmore. Gilmore had requested that his eyes be donated to science after his execution as “they’d probably be the only body part usable”. After Gilmore’s execution, several of his body parts were removed for possible use as transplants or for study. His corneas were used for transplants. 18 x 14 Frame. All backing card, mounts and tapes used are acid free.
£62.00

Sparks – This Town Ain’t Big Enough For Both Of Us
This didn’t chart in the Billboard Top 100 … it got to number 2 in the UK – I was going to be a bit smug that we had a more eclectic music taste over here …. it was kept off the top spot by The Rubettes’ Sugar Baby Love, which may help the eclectic point but does very little for credibility. 18 x 14 inch frame. All mounts, tapes and backing card are acid free. Please note, the image you see is my clumsy attempt at photoshop as I don’t have the room to store hundreds of framed pictures. The real thing will be much more accurately mounted.

Sandy Shaw – Girl Don’t Come
It’s a great cover … I was considering adding some kind of crude gag about the title but decided that would be a bit too childish. Plus, I couldn’t think of anything funny. 18 x 14 inch frame. All mounts, tapes and backing card are acid free. Please note, the image you see is my clumsy attempt at photoshop as I don’t have the room to store hundreds of framed pictures. £77.00

Tenpole Tudor – Swords Of A Thousand Men
A good example of a band who’s frontman really needed to work on his self confidence – his performances were just too subtle and demure. You Tube it and judge for yourself. 18 x 14 inch frame. All mounts, tapes and backing card are acid free. Please note, the image you see is my clumsy attempt at photoshop as I don’t have the room to store hundreds of framed pictures. The real thing will be much more accurately mounted.
£65.00

Ian Dury And The Blockheads – Sueperman’s Big Sister
Stiff’s 100th single. Co written by Wilko Johnson … what else ? …. the title purposely misspells Superman to avoid possible copyright issues with DC Comics. 18 x 14 inch frame. All mounts, tapes and backing card are acid free. Please note, the image you see is my clumsy attempt at photoshop as I don’t have the room to store hundreds of framed pictures. The real thing will be much more accurately mounted.

Please note, the image you see is my clumsy attempt at photoshop as I don’t have the room to store hundreds of framed pictures. The real thing will be much more accurately mounted.
£57.00

Duran Duran – Rio
Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand, apparently. All mounts, tapes and backing card are acid free. Please note, the image you see is my clumsy attempt at photoshop as I don’t have the room to store hundreds of framed pictures. The real thing will be much more accurately mounted.

The real thing will be much more accurately mounted.

£55.00

Bobbie Gentry – Ode To Billy Joe
The brilliant Bobbie Gentry … not Nobbie as I almost put before realising my error – not sure what kind of stuff Nobbie Gentry would release but I’d certainly give it a listen. But no, this is the magnificent Bobbie and her iconic song Ode To Billie Joe – there have been lots of theories as to what was thrown off the Tallahatchie Bridge but I don’t think she ever confirmed or denied any … it’s a mystery wrapped inside an enigma tucked into the armpit of a puzzle. Frame is 20 x 16 inch
£52.00

Manfred Mann – Hubble Bubble
Always thought they dropped a couple of levels when Paul Jones left – just an opinion. Their second theme for Ready, Steady, Go !

The song was also a major hit for British group the Communards in 1986. Great gift for someone that left you that way … although why you would give this fantastic item to someone who left you .. maybe they left you in a good way … who knows. 20 x 16 inch frame.
£53.00

Cameo – Word Up
Funky beast. Yo pretty ladies around the world Got a weird thing to show you so tell all the boys and girls. Picture is sadly lacking the red codpiece but you can’t have everything. 20 x 16 inch frame …. not unlike the codpiece.

Anthem.
£55.00

The Tourists – I Only Want To Be With You
Framed sheet music from 1979 – the classic Tourists cover of Dusty Springfield’s ‘ I Only Want To Be You ‘. Lennox and Stewart went on to form The Eurythmics. I’m guessing that the wedding dress thing is related to the song title … unless it just happened to be what Annie turned up to the photo shoot in .. probably the former. 20 x 16 inch frame.
£53.00

Average White Band – Pick Up The Pieces
The awesome Pick up the Pieces – a funk beast. I realise that sometimes it can be difficult to pick out complex lyrics so I have kindly printed them here – it may take a while to learn but it’s worth it. ‘Pick up the pieces, uh, huh Pick up the pieces, alright Pick up the pieces, uh, huh Pick up the pieces, whoo! Whoo! Pick up the pieces Pick up the pieces Pick up the pieces, whoo Pick up the pieces, oow!’ 20 x 16 frame
£51.00

Ultravox – Vienna
Framed sheet music of Ultravox’s classic track, Vienna ….. Oh Vienna …. da dum, da da da dum. The single became Ultravox’s biggest ever hit, released in January 1981 and peaking at Number 2 (kept off the top spot by John Lennon’s “Woman” and then Joe Dolce’s “Shaddap You Face”). Apparently, Midge Ure briefly played with Thin Lizzy … who’d’ve thunk it ? It’s a 20 x 16 inch frame.

Eartha Kitt – Just An Old Fashioned Girl
Beautiful picture of Eartha from her 1957 hit. Orson Welles once called her the “most exciting woman in the world”. She starred in 1967 as Catwoman, in the third and final season of the television series Batman. Is it too harsh to mention the rhyming slang thing …. ? probably. 20 x 16 frame
£49.00

Marianne Faithfull – As Tears Go By
Beautiful image – she recorded this Jagger/Richards song before The Stones did their version and was her first hit. Faithfull’s maternal great great uncle was Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, whose erotic novel, Venus in Furs, spawned the word “masochism” …. no, no real relevance but it was on Wikipedia so it’s bound to be true … unlike the Mars bar business which isn’t. 20 x 16 frame.
£60.00

Fontella Bass – Rescue Me
Great image for this classic track. 18 x 14 frame
£62.00

Various
I have a large selection of vintage sheet music ready to be framed – just get in touch and I’ll see if I have what you’re after. If I don’t, I can try to source it for you then frame it in either a 20 x 16 or 18 x 14 black frame with a 2cm x 1.5cm moulding – in most cases I can either mount it just on the edge of the sheet or just set back, whichever you prefer. Prices will vary slightly depending on how much I have to pay to acquire it, assuming I don’t have it in stock, so the price below is an approximation. Get in touch and we’ll try to sort out what you need. Pictures below are a small sample of other options ready to frame but, in the words of lovable 70s comedian Jimmy Cricket, there’s more.
